Why do we teach reading strategies?
To give students well rounded and balanced understanding and skills to read fluently and accurately for a variety of reasons.
We aim to teach students comprehension, fluency, phonics, phonemic awareness and vocabulary as these five skills prepare our students for lifelong reading.
